Hannes Obermair is a historian working as a philosopher-in-residence at Eurac Research. His research focuses on medieval history, fascist dictatorships and public history. He has been instrumental in transforming the controversial fascist memorials in Bolzano into contemporary history learning sites, for which he was honored by the South Tyrolean Political Science Association as Political Personality of the Year in 2018.
Eurac Research is a private research center based in Bolzano (South Tyrol) with researchers from a wide variety of scientific fields who come from all over the globe. Together, through scientific knowledge and research, they share the goal of shaping the future.
