Every year, the UNESCO Chair in Anticipation and Transformation awards a digital UNESCO Fellowship. The Fellows are offered the opportunity to collaborate with the team at the UNESCO Chair delving into shared interests and emphasizing UNESCO's global priorities outlined in its 2022-2029 strategy.

The UNESCO Chair in Interdisciplinary Anticipation and Global-Local Transformation, located at the Center for Advanced Studies of Eurac Research, an interdisciplinary Social Sciences research institution of European outreach, is now accepting applications for its annual UNESCO Chair Fellowship.
Each year, one UNESCO Chair Fellowship is awarded., offering the opportunity to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team at the UNESCO Chair on topics of shared interest. This work centers on the UNESCO global priorities and its 2022-2029 strategy, connecting the Fellow's personal experiences and research with the expertise of both the Chair and the Center.
This Fellowship focuses on addressing future social, political and economic challenges, exploring ways to tackle these issues through UNESCO Futures Literacy and other UNESCO approaches and tools. The UNESCO Chair Fellowship 2025 is remunerated and compatible with other non-related work commitments or ongoing university studies. It will be conducted online, with the possibility of 1-2 short visits at the Center for Advanced Studies in Bolzano (Italy). Applications are limited to citizens from EU countries. We particularly encourage applications from women and individuals belonging to other underrepresented groups in academic research.

Romina Rodela
Romina Rodela, Ph.D., is a Senior Researcher and Associate Professor in Environmental Governance and Management at Södertörn University, where she conducts research across several disciplinary lines of inquiry. She obtained her Ph.D. from SPRU at Sussex University (UK), and from 2010 to 2012, she was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the UNESCO Chair for Social Learning at Wageningen University (NL). Romina conducts research on sustainable cities and communities and is pursuing a research agenda focused on methods, tools, and approaches best suited for the engagement of less represented groups in decision-making as part of the Planning with Youth project, for which she is the principal investigator. She has a research interest in questions of equity and justice in the context of contemporary challenges, including novel governance models. At Södertörn University, she served as the Scientific Coordinator for the Research Theme Sustainability Challenges and Pathways (2021-2023) and is currently the coordinator of the Urban-Learning Hub at the Eco-Justice Research Platform. Sanja Bojanić
Prof. Sanja Bojanić, Ph.D. is a researcher immersed in philosophy of culture with an overarching commitment to comprehend contemporary forms of gender, racial and class practices, which underpin social and affective inequalities specifically increased in the current societal and political contexts. She expanded and tailored her interests as a graduate student at the University of Paris 8 in Hypermedia Studies and obtained her Ph.D. at Centre d'Etudes féminines et d'etude de genre. This process ultimately led to interdisciplinary research based on experimental artistic practices, queer studies, and particularities of Affect Theory. Her research and scientific work are fostered through various projects. Author and Editor of several books and manuals, she published over forty peer-reviewed papers on topics related to her field of expertise.

Alex Putzer
Alex Putzer is writing his dissertation on the Rights of Nature in Cities at Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Italy, with affiliations at MIT, UPenn, and The New School in the United States. He has taught at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Austria. As a United Nations Harmony with Nature Expert and member of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature Academic Hub, Alex employs multiple strategies to develop his field. As UNESCO Fellow in Interdisciplinary Anticipation and Global-Local Transformation, he explores how novel rights regimes influence urban policymaking.
