Active and Assisted Living solutions refer to the methods, concepts, (electronic) systems, products and services which support older people as well as people with disabilities in their everyday lives, depending on concrete situations and in an unintrusive way. The techniques and technologies used are specifically oriented towards the individual and can be integrated in their direct living environment: technologies adapt to the needs of the user and not the other way round.

Since 2011, numerous technologies have been tested, analysed and evaluated in many South Tyrolean households. This interdisciplinary expert knowledge accumulated in applied research activities like AAL-projects and their pilot test trials, is now being made available to all stakeholders, stimulating a broad exchange of experiences as well as new local initiatives.
