Institute for Public Management - Bureaucracy reduction and administrative simplification

Bureaucracy reduction and administrative simplification

For decades, citizens, politics and economies have demanded less bureaucracy, clear laws and simple administrative procedures. Not only is Italy’s Autocertificazione (substitute declaration) which replaces official attestations in administrative procedures in a simple way a successful example of these requirements, its digital identity also eliminates the need for paper. At Eurac Research, we work on solutions to demonstrate how bureaucracy reduction can be achieved systematically and as a result contribute to enhancing every citizen’s quality of life.
