The project “Creative Industries Strategy South Tyrol” was launched by IDM Creative Industries with the intention to bring together different interest groups and stakeholders linked to the cultural and creative sectors and to give a current picture of the Creative Industries in South Tyrol. The collaboration with the Eurac Research – Institute for Regional Development and with the Free University of Bolzano – Faculty of Education, originated from an informal cooperation which developed into the concrete setting up of a working team and task plan.

The aim of the overall investigation is to understand how Creative Industries relate to the local development starting from the concepts of creativity and innovation until potentially reaching the discourse on the individual´s and community´s wellbeing (through social and cultural issues and impacts), on the one hand, and the discourse on the territory´s economic health and competitiveness (through economic issues and impacts), on the other hand. The project’s goals include 1. to analyze the local creative community’s perception regarding strengths and weaknesses opportunities and threats of the CCI sector; 2. to outline challenges at the cultural policy level to enforce the CI sector at the regional level; 3. to identify and promote collaborative approaches among different stakeholders in South Tyrol to support the CI sector and increase its visibility.
