FIUMICINA is an interdisciplinary project aimed at experimenting with the collaboration between art and science via the installation of a solar kitchen on the banks of the Talvera River in Bolzano. The kitchen, traditionally a place of gathering and sharing, intends to promote an exchange between different knowledge, generations, and cultures, to create a community that, around a physical and symbolic place, can rethink the concept of the common good. Furthermore, in a natural environment of particular value and accessible to all, through moments dedicated to the preparation and tasting of food, artistic performances, and cultural events, it aims to initiate a socio-ecological transformation that leads to fostering a more conscious relationship with the river space, according to the three principles of NEB (New European Bauhaus): beauty, sustainability and inclusivity. FIUMICINA is primarily a process that involves strong citizen engagement through listening, dialogue, and co-design, the outcome of which will depend on the willingness of those who wish to be part of it.
