We are looking for volunteers for a physiological study

Spend a night at high-altitude to understand immunological & cerebrovascular changes.

    We are looking for volunteers to spend 24 hours inside the terraXcube at a simulated altitude of 3,800 m.a.s.l. Before and during your stay we will sample participant’s blood, measure vital signs and perform non-invasive ocular ultrasound measurements.

    WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

    You can participate if you are between the ages of 18 and 50, and comply with the following:

    • are male
    • have no medical conditions
    • live at an altitude of less than 1,500 m.a.s.l.
    • not have been to altitudes of 2,500 m.a.s.l. or over during the four weeks prior to the study
    • follow normal physical activity
    • do not use tobacco, alcohol or drugs regularly

    WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE STUDY TAKE PLACE?

    The study will take place between September 18 – 20, 2024. Participants must arrive in the morning and stay for a full 24 hours within the climate simulator terraXcube at the NOI Techpark, Via Ipazia 2, Bolzano, Italy.
