About

Erwin M. Schau is a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Renewable Energy in Eurac Research. His work focuses on energy and mobility, particularly the interconnection of energy systems and transportation in the green transformation towards a climate-neutral society. He is involved in the FULFILL project, which studies the role of sufficiency in relation to lifestyle changes and citizen engagement. This project examines the contribution of environmental (e.g., decarbonisation to the goals of the Paris Agreement), economic (e.g., GDP), and social effects in Europe. He is also working on various research proposals.

He holds a PhD in Industrial Economic and Technology Management, with a focus on Industrial Ecology, awarded by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. He has extensive international experience from Germany, Canada, and Slovenia, in addition to Norway and the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra, Italy.
