About:

Crossing disciplinary boundaries has been at the core of my research work and academic background, which is rooted in inter and trans-disciplinary approaches. I apply mixed methods, combining participatory and qualitative research with quantitative analysis, to examine human-nature relations in different socio-cultural and environmental contexts ranging from the Brazilian Amazon Forest to the Italian Alps.

My research interest and current work include:

-Investigation of the root drivers of social inequalities and environmental degradation in mountain regions

-Investigation of socio-environmenta challanges faced by mountain communities through climate- and social- justice perspectives, as well as with an intersectional lense

- Climate-related risk analysis, with a particular focus on the interconnections of risk elements, cascading impacts and vulnerabilities

-Integration of DRR and CCA approaches to design resilience pathways, emphasizing the relevance of local knowledge for local governance and territorial management

- Collaboration with stakeholders and mountain communities to implement transformative risk and territorial governance
