Eurac Research has gained a national and international reputation in the field of human rights, minority and indigenous peoples’ rights, conflict resolution in multiethnic contexts, autonomy arrangements in pluri-ethnic societies, comparative federalism, asymmetric regionalism, institutional innovation and participatory democracy, cross-border cooperation as well as environmental multilevel government and governance.
Since the foundation of Eurac Research in 1992, our point of reference to advise state authorities, International Organizations and minorities worldwide is the peaceful coexistence of diverse societies and tolerance through law. Numerous delegations from private and public institutions, and local and regional governments come for study visits to our Institute to gain insight into our activities as well as the successful autonomy arrangement of South Tyrol.
Our interdisciplinary and international team is available for consulting activities and offers different training programs to respond to the requests of our partners as well as to respond to the rising demand for transdisciplinary teaching modules aiming at making participants acquainted with challenges faced by minorities throughout the world and multi-tier government and governance.

Supporting Inclusive Dialogue and Strengthening Capacities for a Better Functioning Gagauz Autonomy in Moldova
The objective of the project from 2019 to 2021 is to contribute to the effective functioning of the Gagauzia autonomy within the Republic of Moldova and to enhance capacities for implementation of the autonomy’s competencies and functioning of institutional mechanisms.

The e-learning unit was created between August 2022 and February 2023 as a joint project with the Leibniz Institute. The aim of this e-learning unit was to provide basic knowledge about the past and present of Ukraine.
