Our researchers were contributing to the new paper "Two Datasets over South Tyrol and Tyrol Areas to Understand and Characterize Water Resource Dynamics in Mountain Regions" published in MDPI.

Within the paper, two datasets are presented for specific areas located in the Alpine arc that can be exploited to monitor and understand water resource dynamics in mountain regions.

Information is provided on the different sources of water supply in five defined test areas in South Tyrol (Italy) and Tyrol (Austria) in the alpine environment. The snow cover fraction (SCF) and soil moisture content (SMC) datasets are derived from machine learning algorithms based on remote sensing data.
