The project "Developing a satellite-based monitoring approach to map bark beetle infested areas" is a three-year project funded by the Forest Service of the Province of Bolzano in response to the massive bark beetle infestation in South Tyrol. The project supports the regional administration by providing up-to-date satellite images visualizing the current infestation status and by deriving spatial maps showing the temporal evolution of forest changes.
