Exploring Engagement in a Complex World

How to foster dialog and engagement between science and society? At the European Science Engagement Conference EUSEA – held at Eurac Research - experts from all over Europe shared their experiences.

Bolzano’s European Science Engagement Conference #EUSEA23 brought together 130 science festival organizers, science communication practitioners and researchers from all over the world to showcase and discuss the best ways to foster dialogue and engagement between science and society. Participants presented innovative communication formats ranging from Citizen Science to Science Parliaments and Festivals, from Podcasts to card games, from public debates to local strategies uniting scientists, artists, university students and policy makers.

In a world of increasingly complex challenges, solutions can only be found by creating communities across disciplines, stakeholders, and citizens. And science communication can be an important facilitator for co-creation.
