GLOMOS at the Interdisciplinary Symposium on Disaster and the Humanities

GLOMOS at the Interdisciplinary Symposium on Disaster and the Humanities:

Our colleague Paola Fontanella Pisa has been representing GLOMOS at the Interdisciplinary Symposium on Disaster and the Humanities: Preservation, Management, and Heritage organized by the National Institutes for the Humanities (NIHU) and University of Bonn. The symposium investigated the different roles that cultural heritage can play in disaster risk reduction processes, with presentations ranging from studies on the representation of disasters in cinema, to the role that the preservation of historical documents can play to inform future disaster management practices. GLOMOS has therefore been invited to present on-going work investigating local knowledge integration in disaster risk reduction and community resilience of mountain areas, presenting a case study from Japan.
