GLOMOS hosts workshop in Tadami UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Japan

    • Info:

On 12 May 2023, our GLOMOS colleague Paola Fontanella Pisa has hosted a participatory workshop in Tadami UNESCO Biosphere Reserve as part of the RENKEI Funded Denshou-Adapt Project “LOCAL KNOWLEDGE OF RISK FOR CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION: Developing a transdisciplinary participatory workshop model to map how climate change is influencing the risk landscape of rice farming communities”. The development of this workshop was supported by colleagues from Newcastle University (UK) and Osaka University (Japan), in addition to receiving the support of four students from Tohoku University (Japan). Workshop methods and contents have been jointly agreed with both the local farming community and local authorities, facilitating a collaborative and participatory setting. Collected data will be further analyzed, and results will be shared among the local community for further reflections.
