Join us for an inspiring evening of film and discussions as we showcase the 'Green Mountain Pioneers' film documentary. This event is free to attend, and aims to bring together local researchers, mountain and outdoor enthusiasts, policy makers, and innovators of sustainability solutions based in the area.
The event will be hosted by Eurac Research and is being held in collaboration with the Sustainable Alpine Tourism Initiative (SATI). The film premiered at the UN Climate Change Summit COP28, and is now on tour across Europe. The 30 minute film screening will be followed by a discussion moderated by Sarisher Mann (SATI Founder & Film producer) and Federica Maino, Federico Voltolini, Valentina D’Alonzo, Stefan Schneiderbauer.
"Green Mountain Pioneers" is a film directed and created by sustainability filmmaker Michael Shaw, and produced by Sustainable Alpine Tourism Initiative (SATI) founder, Sarisher Mann. The film showcases sustainability solutions in mountain regions through the lens of mountain communities, researchers innovators and experts across the Alps.
It highlights solutions across communities, policy, industry, and science. Filmed in several mountain regions across summer and winter season, including in Austria and across the Tour du Mont Blanc trek in France, Italy and Switzerland with various sustainability innovators, "Green Mountain Pioneers" revolutionises a new inspiring positive narrative towards a sustainable future for mountain regions and their communities. It features themes across circular economy, renewable energy, biodiversity, sustainable tourism and more. The film is in English with English subtitles, and the panel discussion will be in English.
The film is supported by EU Interreg Alpine Space, Mountain Research Initiative (MRI) and Zell am See Kaprun KEM & Tourism Board.
