Environmental Sensing Laboratory at Technology Park

    • Project duration: -
    • Project status: finished
    • Funding:
      Public institutions (Other projects /Project)
    • Institute: Institute for Earth Observation

The internal project ES LAB project brings the activities and the knowhow of the group Technologies for Environmental Monitoring into the context of the Technology Park Bolzano. These activities and knowhow were acquired in the projects MONALISA, EURAC SDI, Sentinel Alpine Observatory (SAO), Mazia LTER, SINFONIA, as well as within the reports written in collaboration with local SMEs and authorities of the province of Bolzano. The establishment of a laboratory serves the creation of a center of competence for environmental monitoring technology. The project allows to further consolidate and develop (i) an integrated information system for management and analysis of the environmental monitoring data aquired in the territory of South Tyrol, (ii) low cost micro controller/processor technology for data acquisition and processing, (iii) a strategy and planning for sustainable operation of the laboratory as an infrastructure for research and innovation.
