Release of openEO platform @ ESA Phi week

Our Institute has lauched the openEO platform during the ESA Phi-Week 2021 for early adopters.

The Phi-week is an event organized by the European Space Agency (ESA) which focuses on how to accelerate the future of Earth Observation (EO), presenting recent developments in EO Open Science and latest trends in EO markets. The main theme of the current year event is the New Space economy and associated innovations.

During this event, the openEO platform has been lauched in order to be tested by interested users. This allow users to explore the platform capabilities and give feedback which can help us to improve the platform itself.

openEO platform has the ambitious goal to create a federated open infrastructure for processing of earth observation data not dissimilar to the scope of the Google Earth engine but in an open source environment.

More informations about the project can be found at the following link: https://openeo.cloud/ or https://www.eurac.edu/en/institutes-centers/institute-for-earth-observation/projects/openeo-platform
