CAF and Resilience Workshop in Vienna

The Italian Case Study at the "People-centred Organisations for Resilience" OECD Deep Dive Workshop

The Institute for public management participated in the "People-centred Organisations for Resilience" deep dive workshop, held in Vienna (Austria) on 8-9 November 2022. Hosted at the Federal Ministry for the Civil Service and Sport, the event was part of the project "Strengthening the Resilience of Public Administrations after the COVID-19 Crisis with CAF 2020," co-funded by the EU and managed by the OECD. Representing the Italian case study, our researcher Veronica Moscon, along with Bruno Tribioli from the Italian Space Agency, joined other experts and representatives from 10 different countries. The workshop was introduced by Christian Kemperle from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport, and Daniel Gerson from the OECD.

Discussions at the workshop centred on the impact of COVID-19 on public sector operations, with a focus on crisis leadership and people management policies. Participants explored how public administrations adapted their service delivery and engagement with society, leading to innovative practices and the redefinition of traditional communication channels. Additionally, representatives of public sector organisations and researchers shared and discussed their good practices in leadership and human resource management. The workshop aimed to consolidate findings and make recommendations to enhance resilience in public sector organisations and improve the TQM-model Common Assessment Framework (CAF).
