Empowerment4Pandemias Blended-Learning Courses: Building Resilience in the local healthcare sector
In mid-November Eurac Research hosted the kick-off meetings of the two hybrid courses aimed at enhancing pandemic resilience among local healthcare workers.
The events, co-organised by Fabio Carnelli from the Center for Climate Change and Transformation and Veronica Moscon and Federica Alloni from the Institute for Public Management, provided an overview on the project and included interactive group activities to encourage experience sharing among participants.
The empowerment4pandemias training programme is based on the work and life experience of almost 100 healthcare professionals from five different countries (Italy, Austria, Germany, Portugal and the UK ) during the recent Covid-19 pandemic. The training material is aimed at improving the well-being of patients, of healthcare personnel and of organisations in crisis situations.
The programme is divided into two courses: one focusing on individual resilience and the other on organisational resilience. The individual resilience course is specifically designed for healthcare professionals who work closely with patients. It aims to enhance emotion management, communication strategies, creativity, problem-solving skills, and risk awareness. Conversely, the organisational resilience course is intended for healthcare workers with managerial responsibilities. It focuses on improving adaptability, strategic thinking, information management, and testing capacity.
Both courses consist of eight online modules, each centered on a specific competence, and have an approximate duration of eight weeks. Upon completion of these modules, a two-day in-person meeting will be held at Eurac Research to review the course content and apply the learned knowledge through a case study.
