Elisa Piras is Senior Researcher at the Center for Advanced Studies of Eurac Research. She studied political science, international relations and political philosophy in Bologna, Florence and Pisa. After obtaining a PhD in Politics, Human Rights and Sustainability, she held research and teaching positions at the University of Bologna and at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa. Her research interests include:

• issues of social and global justice
• history of political thought and contemporary political philosophy
• political liberalism, multiculturalism, identity theories
• public opinion and disinformation
• gender studies and affirmative policies
• discriminatory and gender-based violence
