Support to GIZ Morocco in understanding and analysing climate risks

  • English
  • Info:

During the first two weeks of May, Stefan Schneiderbauer heading our GLOMOS team in Bolzano and Marc Zebisch heading the Centre for Climate Change and Transformation supported the GIZ Team in Rabat in understanding and analysing climate risks in rural and agriculturally used river catchments in Morocco. Morocco has been suffering from severe droughts for several years. Combined with its water-intensive agriculture, this leads to serious climate impacts and risks. Stefan and Marc gave a training to high level experts from Morocco on a conceptual framework for risk assessment called the Climate Risk Sourcebook. This respective GIZ project has the goal to support improvement in water management and to increase the resilience of rural communities in Morocco.
