Rethinking Building Skins

Our researchers contributed at the 1st edition of Rethinking Building Skins: Transformative Technologies and Research Trajectories

    The book, part of the Woodhead Publishing Series in Civil and Structural Engineering, is particularly addressed to researchers in the field of façade design and construction, and professionals working in the façades industry.

    It provides an overview of the major façade technologies throughout history, of the most important research topics on the field and innovations across the value chain including façade design, fabrication, construction, operation and maintenance, and end-of-life.

    The contributions by our researchers regard following topics/chapters:

    • Facades-as-a-Service: a business and supply-chain model for the implementation of a circular façade economy
    • Building integrated photovoltaic facades: challenges, opportunities and innovations
    • Advanced fenestration—technologies, performance and building integration
