CUTE Autonomie

Dieses Projekt befasst sich mit nicht-territorialen Autonomien und Systeme der territorialen Governance auf sub-staatlicher Ebene in einer vergleichenden Perspektive. Hauptaugenmerk des Projekts sind Situationen, in denen die Beteiligung von Minderheiten verbessert werden muss.

Obwohl die sub-staatliche Governance eine wichtige Rolle im Management von nationaler, ethnischer, sprachlicher und religiöser Diversität einnimmt, bleibt die Autonomiefrage in der wissenschaftlichen Literatur und der Politik umstritten. Trotz der reichlich vorhandenen Literatur zur territorialen und nicht-territorialen Autonomien gibt es keine einheitliche Definition des Autonomiebegriffs. Zudem konzentrieren sich empirische Untersuchungen der Autonomien auf eine begrenzte Anzahl von bekannten Fällen.

Das Projekt untersucht Vor- und Nachteile der bestehenden Autonomien und die Diskrepanzen zwischen Theorie und Praxis. Eine Online-Datenbank (www.world-autonomies.com), die auch weniger bekannte Fälle enthält, trägt zum besseren Verständnis von konzeptionellen und empirischen Fragen rund um die Autonomie bei.
