We are pleased to inform you that the call for abstract to participate in the INQUIMUS2024 is now open.

INQUIMUS (lat. “we say”) is an acronym for ”Integrating quantitative and qualitative assessment methodologies for multi-dimensional phenomena” and stands for a workshop series initiated by Z_GIS at the University of Salzburg, Austria and the European Academy of Bozen/Bolzano (Eurac Research) in 2014. The purpose of these workshops is to identify common achievements and methodological challenges enabling us to identify insights and future ways ahead – each year in a specific focus topic.

In line with previous INQUIMUS meetings, this workshop will be moderated to foster a highly interactive and generative event. Conventional presentations will play a minor role. Invited keynotes will introduce the state-of-the-art of particular aspects followed by a focused discussion on current achievements and challenges. Case studies will be exhibited as posters and will accompany the workshop to provide further insights and foster a productive exchange.

Key questions driving the discussion during the workshop will be:

  • how can quantitative and qualitative evidence and narratives be integrated through risk storylines.
  • how can risk storylines be extended towards the dynamics of non-climatic risk drivers (exposure, vulnerability, underlying drivers) and social and economic aspects.
  • to which extent and under which conditions can storylines support risk managers in reflecting on their current risk management practice and adapting those practices to future conditions.
  • Which elements and aspects constitute a good standard in risk storylines to be applied in practice.

Call for Abstracts
