Risk Governance of cross-border severe weather events under climate change

In the framework of the TRANS-ALP Project, our Institute together with EPC srl and ARPAV, is organizing the online workshop – Risk Governance of cross-border severe weather events under climate change: from Vaia storm, to Germany/Belgium Floods and beyond. The event will be in English on September, 30th and is part of the official All4climate Italy 2021 program.
The online workshop aims at arising awareness and fostering discussion on the risk arising from severe hydro-meteo events in the context of Climate Change. It will be the occasion to highlight and analyse potential similarities between past and recent disasters, like Vaia, Central Europe floods, and other, as a hint of what might happen in the future, taking into consideration the most recent data and estimations about climate change.
The workshop will be held online on Zoom platform, and will consist on two sessions of high-level panellists’ speech, plus a guided discussion with Q&A session open to inputs, feedbacks and ideas from the audience.
The event is addressed to researchers, practitioners and policy makers in the fields of risk and disaster forecast, prevention, management, assessment, but also to local authorities, civil protection operators, climate change researchers, and to the general public.
