X-RISK-CC second project partners meeting

On the 7th of July, the second in-person meeting of the X-RISK-CC project partners took place in Munich.

Researchers discussed and defined the next steps towards assessing compound impacts and risks of past extreme weather events in the five pilot cases: mass movements in Garmisch (Germany), drought and flooding in Gorenjska (Slovenia), torrential processes in Wipptal (Italy) and Stubaital (Austria), storm Eleanor/Burglind in France and Switzerland and storm Vaia in Italy. This meeting has been useful to foster common knowledge across the project partners, and to provide inputs in addressing actions and solutions to manage extremes in the context of climate change.

X-RISK-CC aims to support risk managers and policy makers in addressing the compound risks of climate change extremes by developing new knowledge, local risk management actions and transnational guidelines.

This project is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg Alpine Space programme. Find out more about X-RISK-CC here: https://www.alpine-space.eu/project/x-risk-cc/.
