The upcoming EU PVSEC Conference in Vienna promises to be a huge event for the solar energy sector, highlighting cutting-edge advancements and fostering innovation in research, technology, and applications. As the industry embraces the expansion of solar photovoltaic adoption, reaching multi-terawatt capacity, attendees can anticipate a comprehensive program covering several critical topics.
The program will delve into significant technological breakthroughs, including developments in silicon solar cells, perovskites, and tandem structures. It will also explore the design, implementation, and operational aspects of PV modules and systems, placing a strong emphasis on the role of digitalization and machine learning in optimizing performance. Additionally, the application of PV technology across various sectors such as Building-Integrated PV (BIPV), Agricultural PV (Agri PV), and Floating PV will be addressed.
A major theme will be the energy transition, reflecting the multidisciplinary efforts necessary for the swift deployment of PV technologies globally. This includes addressing technical, storage, economic, sustainability, and societal challenges to facilitate a successful ecological transition.
The Institute sees this year a massive participation of almost the whole research group on Photovoltaic Energy Systems, with topics ranging from outdoor performance and reliability of perovskite-silicon Tandems, multispectral photovoltaic module characterization, PV manufacturing, bifacial PV power estimation and agri-voltaic.
