GRASS ADD-ON r.green

The software is an add-on of the GRASS software which computes the residual energy potential of different renewable energies like biomass, ground source heat pumps or hydropower

    Development

This ADD-ON of GRASS, developed within the recharge.green project, is an open-source GIS software that offers support to the evaluation and mapping of potential sites for renewable energy exploitation taking into account financial, social, planning and territorial features. A dataset to run the modules is also available.

The different scenarios - biomass, hydropower and ground source heat pumps - can be compared so that the residual energy potential and the suitable places for constructing a new power plant can be identified.
