Consterm 2.0

Scientific support for terminology issues

    The Institute for Applied Linguistics of Eurac Research and the Office for Language Issues of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano have strengthened their longstanding collaboration by renewing their collaboration agreement. The initial agreement, signed in 2015, was for four years. The renewal of the collaboration agreement is based on the continued interest of both parties as well as on the positive results achieved by this collaboration. The increasing use by employees of the South Tyrolean local administration of terminology produced through this collaboration demonstrates the success and vision of the ConsTerm-project. This is corroborated by the statistics from bistro (http://bistro.eurac.edu/): the number of accesses by the employees of the local administration is steadily increasing, thus underlining the usefulness of terminology it contains. Therefore, the Institute for Applied Linguistics and the Office for Language Issues intend to continue their activities and pursue the following objectives: producing high-quality terminology, disseminating correct, clear and coherent legal/administrative terminology, extending the existing collections of German and Italian terminology. The long-term aim of the cooperation consists in raising the awareness of the public concerning the paramount importance of using correct terminology in the fields of law and public administration, and in specialised domains in general.
