Public Weigh House, Bolzano

The Cassa di Risparmio Foundation has carried out conservation work on disused historic buildings. This renovation work allows the buildings to be used once again for cultural activities. The work includes refurbishment to improve the insulation of part of the building envelope, replacement of windows, the installation of a ventilation system that enables the recovery of heat on two floors.

The role of Eurac Research

In this building, our researchers carried out an important research on components: support in the installation and further monitoring of internal insulation in a test room, development and installation of a prototype window, hygrothermal and interior comfort monitoring, consultancy in relation to the planning of the restoration project, and research expertise relating to mechanical and natural ventilation.
