# Energy modellingDynamic modelling of energy scenarios for Lower Austria
Eurac Research developed a dynamic modelling of energy scenarios to achieve the climate and energy targets of Lower Austria
- English
Development
Eurac Research has developed a dynamic simulation model to support strategic energy planning. It is a model in which the energy system of a province/region/country is worked out hour by hour for a reference year. It takes into account both the consumption and production of thermal energy, electrical energy and the transport sector. Once the reference system has been developed, it can be optimised in terms of total costs and CO2 emissions. For this purpose, renewable energy sources are gradually expanded, energy efficiency measures are analysed and energy storage options are considered. Thousands of different variants of the energy system can be considered, taking into account predefined restrictions. The aim is to find those scenarios for Lower Austria that achieve the set climate targets at the lowest cost, taking into account the specified framework conditions.
