New Job Position
We are looking for a Researcher or technician with experience in analytical chemistry for generation of a large-scale targeted metabolomics data set.
The Institute for Biomedicine is seeking for a researcher with mass spectrometry (MS) experience to help in the generation of a large, targeted metabolomics data set.
As part of a scientific project, a targeted metabolomics data set from 1,200 obese participants of the Cooperative Health Research in South Tyrol (CHRIS) study should be generated. Serum samples from all study participants are available in the Institute's Biobank. The generated data will be used to characterize the study participants and to find and define metabolic profiles to discriminate between healthy and unhealthy obese individuals. The applicant will assist in the sample preparation and will generate the targeted metabolomics data using the Biocrates MxP Quant 500 kit on the LC-MS instrumentation of the Institute. The applicant can also participate in, and contribute to, the following data post-processing and analysis and will hence also learn principles of reproducible analysis of metabolomics data in R.
